Julia visits Cornwall Animal Hospital

4.00.00pm GMT Mon 7th Jan 2008

Local MP Julia Goldsworthy visited the Cornwall Animal Hospital last week, following an invitation from fundraiser Tommy Bray. During her tour Ms Goldsworthy saw the work going on in existing buildings and heard about plans for the future. It is hoped that by expanding and updating the current buildings, the hospital will be better able to accommodate dogs waiting to be re-homed.

Commenting Ms Goldsworthy said:

"Cornwall Animal Hospital provides a vital service for many families who otherwise would struggle to pay the vet's bills for their pets. There is a great need to expand the facilities to provide kennels for unwanted and stray pets while staff try to find permanent homes for them.

"I wish them every success in the future and will do all I can to help them to raise the funds necessary to undertake the work.
